The Crystal Sagas (Shard of Memories) Chapter I – Spinning the Strings

Episode I: The St. Soluna Boogieman – Part I

“In the father’s blood… laid love for his son, though greed had consumed his soul. By his final breath, buried his power, behind the curtain were none could follow. There it now sleeps … destined to be awakened once more.”

Deep within the cellar of dark chamber, she laid locked and bound to the iron cross. Awakened by the glittering moonlight blanketing her being, the helpless girl cried tears of fear as they slid down her cheek. Into the harboring darkness, she peered, watching as the shadow lurking within slowly stepped into the light, revealing the sickening smile hidden behind its white mask. His eyes yield no rationality, yet only utter insanity. His body, clocked by the stench of death and decay, disfigured and held together by black staples and the stitching of wire. A true monster he was … the frightening nightmare out of a child’s dream, the boogieman. Tearing apart her clothing, the creature laughed sadistically while sinking its fingernails into the pale flesh. Her screams of agony, echoing through the hallow halls, roaring the night.

Location: The 6th Human Residential Ark Colony, Aragra – St. Soluna Academy

Date: December 24th ED 306 (Eve of Harmona) – 7:28am

Before the effigy of Solaria, goddess of life and wisdom, knelt, third year high-school student of St. Soluna Academy, Akira Tsubaki. In her daily- routine prayers, dressed in her white academy uniform, she prayed for good health and fortune. As she prayed, at the edge of her mind, a memory emerged. “… Uncle, is God really strong?” A child Akira asks the man in white, his face she can barely remember, however only recalls him as ‘Uncle.’ Akira’s eyes beaming in amazement. The man knelt down, placing his hand softly onto her head, softly brushing through her healthy, dark brown hair. “He IS strong. Just like you, Akira.” says the man, “Really?” The sunlight splashed onto his being. His passion complemented by his posture and wisdom, like a saint of the gods’ will. With a smile, the memory becomes transparent, fading back into the corridors of Akira’s mind. Her eyes opened, burning with resolve, she stands up, ready to greet the morning of a new day.

Beside her chest, Akira held close, the “Pendant of Faith,” a memento to her late uncle and her symbol of resolve. Delicately, she held it in the palms of her hands and smiled, though a tear of mourning escaped her. She wiped it away, remembering to remain strong for her uncle’s sake. Akira was only a child back then; but now, a mature adult, ready to face life without fear. Looking down at her watch, Akira observed the time. “Now then … it is now 7:47. Hey, Kasumi! We’ll be late if we don’t leave now … Kasumi?” Discovering they were running late, Akira turns her attention to her childhood friend beside her, Kasumi Miyazaki, whom, much to Akira’s surprise, was already fast asleep. As the drool slithered from Kasumi lip, a sigh escaped Akira. With a thick textbook in hand, drawn from her schoolbag, a look of disappointment flared from Akira’s eyes. “Jeez … this girl is unbelievable. She’s still tired after already oversleeping.” Ringing through the church halls, a loud smack echoed into the garden outside.

Outside the church, strolling alongside its beautiful garden, Akira and Kasumi went on their way towards the academy. Rubbing her head, Kasumi glared at her, questioning Akira’s methods. “That really hurt, Aki-Chan …” she says gloomily. Akira turns with a grin and boasted “It’s how I show my affection. You’ve been gone for days, and that’s not a very responsible way for a young adult to act so let’s try to be on time for your first day back,” adding a kindly chuckle. Because of her caring nature, Kasumi sighed and continued forward. Suddenly, Kasumi tripped and fell to the ground; her skirt flipping, exposing her white panties plainly for all to view. Beside Kasumi, a slender figure knelt near the grave, catching Akira’s eye. “Give her eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine upon her forever, guiding to your blessed garden.” Recognizing the person, Akira waved hello. “Good morning, Alicia. Will you be absent again today because of work?” she said, feeling great discomfort. Without a word, Alicia nodded, confirming Akira’s guess before walking off with an extra bouquet of rosemary. Feeling sympathy for Alicia, Akira frowns. “Quiet as usual isn’t she …? Boy Kasumi, you have knack for stumbling where there’s nothing to stumble over” says Akira, turning her attention to Kasumi who was crouching on the floor, her posture being no different from a sack of potatoes. “Ouch *groans* … Aw, stop teasing me Aki-Chan, it’s not funny.” Laughing, Akira bent down, and with a smile, lent her childhood friend a helping a hand. “Guess it can’t be helped, now princess allow me to take you hand.” Kasumi grabbed hold of Akira’s hand, and couldn’t help but smile alongside her.

(NEW!) Chronicles of DestinyEdge – The Crystal Sagas

The Universe of “DestinyEdge”

Elucidation of “DestinyEdge” (Story, Setting, & Plot): The significant plot of DestinyEdge directly focuses on the development of Allen D. Lynguard, his alas within the novel being “Fate,” as well as his mental, including physical, metamorphous of character, ability, and his initial role in the series. Gradually, the protagonist’s allies’ personas, primarily Akira Tsubaki, Kasumi Miyazaki, and Ariel E. Summers, intertwines with his own personality, subjective by their different traits and behaviors, further evolving his metamorphosis.

The series’ plot is set on a fictional planet titled as Serine XIII, inheriting its Roman numeral “XIII” for its planetary orbital position. Though similarity’s can be associated with our real planet, Earth, the construction of Serine is entirely fictional.

The cryptic past of Serine (purposely) remains cryptic to the reader. However, as the story progresses, small portions of history are unveiled, eventually revealing the secret, final plot of the DestinyEdge series.

DestinyEdge will now be taking a new, more polished step towards its future …

Fate Lynguard

DestinyEdge
Contents – Character Data Files

Allen D. Lynguard, or best known by his preferred name “Fate,” is a renegade knight of the Solarian Royal Guard’s own Lynguard Family and is a wanted criminal with a highly well-known reputation across the states of the Unified Kingdom of Solaria. He is Clyade Lynguard’s foster younger brother, one of the twelve Cardinal Virtues, and is the main protagonist of the series.

Information

When he was younger, Fate Lynguard lived in Rust-View Village with his younger siblings Sophia Lynguard and Clyade Lynguard, and was watched over by Maria A. Lynguard. Not being blood related to the Lynguard Royal Family, Fate was often disregarded by his fellow family members, besides Sophia and Maria, and hardly ever taken seriously. At some point in time, Fate self-training began to catch the attention of family’s elder thus earning himself the chance to prove himself in the upcoming tournament, which would decide the next Cardinal Virtue to represent the family. Clyade eventually grew jealous of Fate for this privilege and began to hate him because of his blood ties.
During the tournament, Fate quickly advanced towards the finals and emerged its victor having defeated his older brother Clyade. Soon after the tournament, Rust-View Village was burnt down by Clyade and Traven Nomed, who also severely injures Fate and petrifies Sophia along with the rest of the villagers. He was later found by Cross L. Vonburen of the Seven Holy Knights where he proceeded to train Fate on how to control the power of his newly acquired Master Key and repeatedly stated that although the item was now bounded to him, it was not yet under his full control.
For the next few years, Cross trained Fate to control his Master Key, while being watched by Zain, who Cross also trained. During the time, Fate would get ominous visions or have strange dreams of a young girl with white hair. When his training was at last complete, Fate had finally came to the decision to depart on his journey. However, before parting ways, Cross took Fate back to remains of Rust-View and handed him two items once belonging to the hero, the Red Scythe: his crystal pendent and his sword, Guilty-Cross. Feeling the weight of the man that gave the world hope, Fate finally sets off on his journey.

Appearance

Fate Lynguard is modeled after a Japanese manga and anime hero with additions of European Medieval bases. He is a young adult with red spiky hair with Heterochromia Iridum: his right eye being blue while his left eye is being red, a side effect from his Master Key. On Fate’s left arm is an orange insignia of an unknown hieroglyph with the roman number 16 underneath it. His clothes consist of a hybrid of futuristic, modern, and old fashions. He wears a crimson-red sleeved zipper jacket with pauldrons and two separate plates embedded onto both forearms of the sleeves. Underneath is a charcoal-black sleeveless vest with a jet-black belt. He wears black fingerless-gloves equipped with two steel gauntlets reinforced and multiple jet-black belts wrapping around the wrist and forearm, which lies hidden underneath the jacket. On the back on the gloves are flaming-orange shells which open up to reveal the Master key. He also wears charcoal-black pants. Fate wears a large jet-black belt around the waist, with two buckles and an amulet lock attached. Attached to the pants, on both legs starting from the knee down, are jet-black baggy pieces of clothing with flaming-orange designs on them (Sorry I don’t know the name to them.) on knees and shins are steel guards with two flaming-orange shells and finally finishes the outfit with a pair of sneakers, equipped with steel guards.

Powers and Abilities

Fate Lynguard is one of the most powerful individuals in the world of DestinyEdge. Having been trained by Cross, one of the strongest beings alive, Fate dawns incredible fighting strength and skill; enough to take down an entire squadron of EDEN soldiers. Being a half-breed of the Guardias, artificial living bio-weapons created specifically for combat, Fate possess an arsenal set of moves ranging for close-range combat to long-range charge attacks. Not only does his strength increases to superhuman statures, Fate also has the ability to heal himself a lot faster than regular human beings. Fate’s elemental affinity is fire. In battle, Fate can summon large waves of fire during many of his attacks such as a stream of large flaming spikes after striking the ground upwards with his blade (Gun Trigger). A demonic claw sprouting fire from the wrist and slashing through a foe with crushing force and speed (Guilty Grave). A burning wing of fire launching both him and his foes into the air (Divider Edge). On the other hand, a stream of fire while sliding across ground, bouncing the foe off the ground and surging a huge blast of fire; blasting the foe away (Burning Shotgun).

Fate’s weapon of choice is the Guilty-Cross, a weapon the supplements his abilities to launch fire based attacks. The Guilty-Cross initially takes the form of a large two handed sword with a rectangular shape blade. The weapon can change shapes ranging from either sword-form to gun-form which allows Fate to cause massive shred damage if his attacks are blocked; this is possible through the swords original form being a fire spirit.
One of the main reasons why Fate is considered an SS-Ranked criminal and highly dangerous fighter within the world of DestinyEdge is because of his Master Key: the Armagust, an incredibly powerful form of Arcane that draws power directly out of the Edge. The Master Key: Armagust enhances the powers of whoever wields it, making it a high level Lux Sanctus Armamentum. In the case of Fate, he can enter an even more powerful form called Gear Soul Install, enveloping Fate within a dark aura of energy and fire; doubling his attack power and speed (The transformation can be upgraded through levels 2-6. however, levels 4, 5, and 6 lie untapped due to their highly destructive power). By each Gear Soul Install level, Fate loses a portion of his human form, little by little until completely changing along with his mental state. For the reason of this change is unknown, but if gone too far, the destructive power lurking within this transformation is beyond any human comprehension and the consequences would be dire if not tamed.
